I decided I was going to carve a ring. As I dated my wife the idea to make it a ring to propose with came to me. I did some research and found some symbols that would be meaningful for both of us. The tree of life symbol is used to suggest eternal families. Our initials are carved on the trunk of the tree because that is something some people do when they are in love. There are many things the circle in a square represent. I used cedar wood and did all the carving with a pocket knife. After she accepted the proposal we took the wood ring to David Fadel and I worked closely with him to get a ring that looked as close as possible to the one that I had carved.
